Crazy Afghan.

Have you ever noticed you find out random things when you talk to people. For example, a few weeks ago my brother told me that when 9-11 hit, fremont, was one of the areas that was being watched for possible terrorist attacks, since it has such a large middle-eastern population. Another example is, just a few minutes ago my friend asked me if i had heard about this crazy guy that was running people over, who was from Fremont!







Omeed Aziz Popal, 29 was arrested for killing one and running over 14 people. Supposedly he was going crazy, hearing the devil, after returning from his arranged marriage in Afghanistan. Read more here about poor Popal.

So, is it just me or do you think we are being extra hard on the guy, sure he's injured 14 and killed 1, but did we really need to bring up his arranged marriage? There are tons of people who get arranged marriages and they don't all go and run people down. Maybe the news should have focused more on the fact that he had history of mental illness, and why no one gave him a prozac.
